Hi, I’m Ryan. I have been a car enthusiast all of my life and have a particular interest in German brands.   Some (my wife!) would say I am obsessed with keeping my cars clean, protected and in perfect condition.

I am a passionate believer in keeping older cars on the road for longer, so helping protect them and extending their life makes perfect sense to me. For my own use, I typically buy older cars with low mileage, in the best condition I can find. I then find a local brand specialist to do the mechanical work and I focus on preserving their physical condition. I find this is paid back at the time of sale, often selling them years later for more than I originally paid. If I average out all the cars I’ve bought and sold over the years, I’ve made more than I’ve spent. There were, of course individual cars that lost money. After all, I did once own an Alfa Romeo!

I firmly believe that looking after your car will pay you back later and I am proof of that.

Having first applied Lanoguard to my own cars in September 2024, I then topped up the protection in October 2025. I mentioned this to a friend whose Mini had previously had numerous MOT advisories for rust.  I offered to apply Lanoguard to protect and improve the underside of the Mini with good success. I then did the same for his other cars.

Word travels fast and I have now protected a wide range of cars of various shapes and sizes including a Porsche 996 Turbo S, BMW E46 M3 Convertible, Mercedes C63 estate, BMW 520d Estate, Mazda MX5, Mini Cooper S Works, Porsche Boxster S, BMW M2, Land Rover Defender, Land Rover Discovery, Toyota Land Cruiser, Mercedes Hightop Motor Home, Focus RS, Fiesta ST, Audi A4 and finally a few vans.

The Porsche Boxster and Mazda MX 5 convertible roofs also needed some care. In the last 12 months I had been in contact with a convertible roof specialist for some minor work on one of my own cars and they recommended I had my roof cleaned and protected as it had become porous. I nearly fell off my chair when they asked for £400 plus VAT for this service, so I learnt to do it myself. With this knowledge and experience, I cleaned and protected both the MX5 and the Boxster, charging a fraction of what had been quoted for my own car, whilst using the same materials.
