FAQs
What services do you offer?
The main service we offer is under vehicle treatment using Lanoguard to help protect your vehicle from rust, and wet and salty roads. The standard service is an under chassis protection. We can also do various additional protection, for example protection behind the wheels, behind wheel arch liners and behind sill covers which is a particular rust weakness spot.
We also offer various other specialist services, including add-ons when you book for an under car treatment such as wheel cleaning, convertible roof protection and we can get your car primed and photographed to get it in the best condition ready for sale.
How much does the under vehicle treatment cost?
For a standard underside Lanoguard, we charge based on the on the size of vehicle, starting from £275 for a small vehicle, up to £375 for a Range Rover. Motor homes and horse boxes can be catered and quoted on a case by case basis.
Additional rust proofing services are available:
Remove sill covers £200 - depending on the vehicle, sills are a rust weakness, so cleaning them out and protecting them from rust is a good preventative measure
Deeper rust protection when removing the wheels:
Wheels off Lanoguarding £100 - this allows us access to the places that you can’t reach with the wheels in place.
Remove wheel arch liners £250 - As the name suggests, we will remove the wheels and then the wheel arch liners. We will then clean out any debris and then Lanoguard all the areas we can access and spray Lanoguard into any cavities that are visible, for example inside the wings.
With the wheels off, we can clean and protect your wheels, with 2 options:
£150 - clean, decontaminate, wheel wax and Autoglym Rapid Ceramic Spray that last up to 6 months
£200 - clean, decontaminate, G Technic Wheel Armour Ceramic coating, that lasts up to 2 years
For how long do you need my vehicle?
For a standard underside Lanoguard, we will need your vehicle for a whole day. Lanoguard takes a few hours to cure before you can drive the vehicle.
If you are having “wheels off” Lanoguard, where we spray Lanoguard into the wheel arches, the Lanoguard needs longer to cure. The wheel arches are considered a high impact area and Lanoguard recommend at least 48 hours for the product to cure.

How long does Lanoguard last?
Lanoguard has been designed for yearly/seasonal applications. The product is broken down by UV, so the more it is exposed to sunlight the shorter its life span.
Endure Car Protection’s experience:
This is similar to “how long do my tyres last?”. It depends on your usage and storage of the vehicle. If for example it is a sports car that is garaged all winter and will only do 1-2k miles a year, then an application every 2 years would be recommended. If the vehicle is a 4x4 and used year round in all weathers both on and off road, then we would recommend annual application.
What colour is Lanoguard?
The Lanoguard sprays are almost clear when being applied. This result in a clear coating which is a semi-matte wet look which enhances whatever colour is under it. Being transparent allows you to clearly see that rust isn’t forming on the surface, which offers huge value. Inspecting the surface is easy, and it is preferred by MOT testers.
Is Lanoguard a sustainable product?
Lanoguard is sustainable and does not require any special handling. The primary ingredient of Lanoguard is Lanolin, which is a very ecologically safe and sound base. In fact, an entire dam in New Zealand was moved down river on a base of Lanoguard marine grease, showing how the river authority was not concerned about any toxins being left behind.
What preparation is needed before applying Lanoguard?
We will make sure the area is well prepared before applying the Lanoguard which will improve the effectiveness of the Lanoguard protection.
Apply chassis degreaser/snow foam to the under side and leave for 10-15 mins
Jet wash the underside
Dry the underside
Wire brush any loose rust
Apply Lanoguard Moto Grease onto any heavily rusted areas
Apply Lanoguard Moto Spray onto all of the underside, with the exception of engine belts and brake discs
Can Lanoguard be used over surface rust?
Lanoguard is great for chassis with surface rust. It has a natural affinity to ferrous metals and will bond to the metal underneath any surface rust. It acts as a barrier by hermetically sealing to the surface keeping oxygen and water out - stopping any rust from developing further.
How long does it take to dry?
Lanoguard reaches its final state around 7 to 10 days after application. Day 0 it is “oily” day 3 “soft” and the final state is dry to the touch, but you know something is there. Like a candle to feel. Maybe a little softer. It dries to a clear / transparent semi satin wet look and stays that way for some months eventually dulling a little. But it always stays clear and of course, you can jet wash it to clean it back to how it was when you put it on. It is best to not drive the vehicle for 24hours to let it get through the first part of the curing process.
Endure Car Protection’s experience:
Lanoguard also recommend that the vehicle can be driven after 8 hours of application. We understand that in some cases, this might be your only vehicle, so we will work with you turn it around ASAP. If it is not your main car however, we would advise leaving it 24 hours before you drive it.
Does Lanoguard kill existing rust?
Lanoguard prevents and completely stops rust developing further. It will creep, bind, and bond underneath surface rust. It creates a barrier by hermetically sealing to the surface stopping water and oxygen getting in, therefore not allowing rust to develop. Lanoguard doesn’t remove existing rust, but it does bond to the metal surface below – over time it will slowly seep underneath surface rust and push off oxidation. It doesn’t remove rust completely, but it can improve and nourish the surface over time.
Why is the grease needed in the underbody chassis kit?
The Moto Grease is a super-concentrate surface protectant product. It is essentially a thicker version of the spray and is a very useful product for vehicle underbody applications. It provides a heavy-duty protection and a thicker coat – meaning it’s perfect for more vulnerable or prone areas.
How is Lanoguard made?
Lanoguard gets its name from lano as in lanolin and guard as in protection. It is made from the oils of the fleece of sheep. The oils are extracted using a scouring process. Lanoguard uses a high-grade lanolin which goes through testing to ensure they get the consistency and the quality of that lanolin. The unique thing about their manufacturing process is that not only are they using high-grade lanolin, they are also using what we call the cleaner part of hydrocarbons and they are developing more and more plant and bio derived solutions for the sprays too. Lots of hydrocarbons are quite toxic or an irritant. What they use are not. So, with the cleaner and greener approach of it all, that allows them to be non toxic and marine ecology friendly. And they’re driving to be more and more so as we evolve their R & D. Crucially they have evolved and developed a unique blending process which allows them to blend more lanolin and a specific type of lanolin into the products, which is a very good thing and quite a difference to their competitors.
Can I get Lanoguard cleaned off or removed?
Removal is only really needed if you want a very close up inspection of the underbody, or if you have already done a few years of coat-on-coat and would like to start again. I can offer a removal service if required.
Will Lanoguard prevent cold welding on stainless steel
Lanoguard will prevent cold welding of stainless steel. It does this by preventing the surfaces from coming into contact with each other. It will act as a cold weld prevention barrier, anti corrosion and anti seize agent.
